Principal Electrical Engineer (Data Centre)

Mission

The position is for a Principal Electrical Engineer providing mission critical facilities consulting and design for the C&SP, Colocation, Telecoms, BFSI and other mission critical industries.

This position is responsible for designing high quality electrical services solutions in mission critical applications such as Data Centres, Command Centres, etc, to meet the customer’s project needs. The person is also responsible to ensure that the solution offered for a given project ensures the successful project implementation, compliance to standards and highest customer satisfaction.

What will you do?

• Electrical System Design

o Liaising with customer’s project teams, consultants and internal teams to understand the project requirement/scope/needs.

o Convert the project scope into solution to successfully meet the customer needs as well as create competitive advantage through right design and selection.

o Ensure the solution compliance to the local standards, regulation, codes and safety requirements.

o Create all required documentation in terms of capacity calculations, design calculations, drawings, layouts, specifications, block schematics, solution presentation, solution value proposition, compliance table, etc.

o Solution design should ensure the successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.

o Provide engineering support to the team during installation in terms of process, tools required, procedures, regulatory compliance, Dos and Don’ts, technical interpretations and support, and ensure quality.

• Bid Management

o Provide bid management support for solution bid proposal preparation. Provide complete BOQ/BOM for the solution.

o Identify and qualify vendors, provide first cut costing.

o Participate in customer meetings to communicate the project proposal status and any roadblocks.

o Escalate any roadblocks during proposal creation to internal stakeholders. Provide regular reports on proposal status to Country Solution Manager.

• Customer Care and Quality

o Ensure the successful compliance of solution to project scope by offering high quality solution.

o Deliver services to achieve highest customer satisfaction during pre-sales stages.

o Escalate any customer issues to Solution Manager and be responsible to ensure its closure.

o Identify the improvements needed, document it and communicate to the respective owners and stake holders

• Partner Management

o Responsible for identifying and qualifying third party service providers during project solution design.

o Monitor and communicate the performance of partners.

o Ensure the compliance to Schneider processes, methodology and code of conduct by sub-contractors and partners.

o Select the partners to achieve higher customer satisfaction.

• Training and Development

o Responsible for providing the training to internal staff as well as to the partners to build competency in delivering successful services to customers.

o Update and educate yourself with the current applicable technologies, trend, tools, processes and standards.

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering.

• 12 years in Engineering or related discipline, particularly in mission critical applications and consulting engagement skills.

• Speak and write English

• In depth understanding of electrical distribution system design.

• In depth understanding of electrical system components such as HV, MV, LV distribution, switchgears, panel design standards, grounding, generator systems, etc.

• Understanding on best practices and standards in electrical systems design, installation and operation requirement.
