Job description:
The COO will be accountable for the followings: - Support the CEO in setting the company’s direction.
- Oversee the organisations’ financial, compliance and people matters.
- Support all strategic and operational matters to achieve the company’s business objectives.
The incumbent will be in-charge of the following: - Finance, Human Resources & Admin, Procurement, Legal & Compliance, Information Technology, Programme Management Office
- As part of the Top Management team, he/she will ensure the organisation maximises value from the finance, HR and governance functions, through embedding deep into the business and learn its value drivers and operations, in order to provide value-added guidance, counsel and implementation of initiatives that positively impact the organisation and the industry.
- Build a sustainable and effective organisational structure filled with talented resources with appropriate experience and leadership competencies.
- Responsible for determining, implementing, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of accounting and reporting.
- Oversee the financials, cash flow, including securing of funds, managing cash, liquidity and the cost-effectiveness of the operations.
- Direct the preparation of management reports and financial statements, Audit Committee and Board papers for presentation to the management, Board Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
- Responsible for ongoing compliance functions and matters with regards to all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies, monitor internal and external risk exposures concerning business, marketing, operation, infrastructure and technology and regulations.
- Responsible for ongoing contractual/legal document matters using internal capability or outsourcing to legal advisors.
- Build and develop the new procurement functions, oversee the contracting process, including administration and develop an efficient and balanced supplier base, and drive supplier performance with the business units.
- Form part of the Management Committee team in setting the overall company’s goals and directions.
- A business partner to business teams and to provide advisory and operational support.
- Motivate and grow the people and foster teamwork across the company.
- Contribute and lead new innovative projects.
- Responsible for divisional KPIs, set performance and operational KPIs, reporting and review of all units and projects.
- Responsible for budget setting, tracking and optimisation.
Requirement - The ideal candidate will come from strong financial and HR background. He/she should have experience in a GLC/agency/government setting and has the passion to be part of a transforming organisation towards nation building
- Must possess an Accounting Professional Qualification (ACCA/CPA/ICAEW/MICPA) with Bachelor’s Degree in any related field.
- A minimum 18 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource, compliance with exposure in business operations.
- At least 5 years in a senior management position and leading the support team.
- Result-driven, multi-tasker and passion for success with a dynamic mindset.
- People person and have mastery over good networking that enable to work effectively and collaborate simultaneously across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
- Good written and oral communications/ presentation skills, analytical skills and mastery in presentation and related software.
- Detailed and meticulous with project management experience as an added advantage.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Have high integrity, accountability and have a strong passion towards nation building.
- Possess leadership qualities in leading its team and across organisation, and tenacity in driving its strategic plans towards common goals and objectives.
