Automation Engineer

We are representing our client, a leading engineering solutions provider specialising in the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of beverage processing systems and sanitary piping infrastructure

Role Overview

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, programming, testing, and maintenance of automated systems to optimize production processes. Your day-to-day work will involve PLC and SCADA/HMI programming, process control, electrical engineering, and troubleshooting activities across various project phases.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and execute electrical, instrumentation, and automation programming works.
• Develop PLC programs and HMI graphics in accordance with project requirements.
• Perform internal hardware and software integration testing, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at customer sites.
• Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide site troubleshooting support for electrical wiring and/or automation programs.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Skills & Knowledge

• Proficient in IEC 61131-3 PLC programming standards, including Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, drive systems, and HMI programming.
• Experience with Siemens PLC will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings.
• Competent in process control and automation using PLC and SCADA/HMI systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Willing to travel outstation or overseas when required.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
