Our client is a multinational company (MNC) HQ in Denmark with a strong global presence in the insulation industry. They specialize in providing high-quality stone wool insulation solutions for various sectors, including construction, industrial applications, and energy efficiency, ensuring sustainable and innovative approaches to meet diverse market needs. Currently, they are looking for a Mechanical Design & Information Management Engineer to be based in Melaka. 

  • Monday to Friday
  • Allowances will be provided
  • 13th month salary

Role Summary:

  • This position will support Regional Asia AutoCAD and Solidworks design needs that enable productive review, fabrications and upgrade. 
  • Systematic and confidential information management. 
  • Provides technical Engineering & Quality Management / Control guidance to Contractors / consultants to ensure design, construction, fabrication works complies with applicable engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional working teams, including electrical engineers, project and production teams, to ensure seamless project executions.
  • Develop and translate design concepts into detailed AutoCAD and Solidworks drawings
  • Design complies to group SHE, MMR, FLPM and local Standards
  • Standardize components to minimize spare parts inventory and streamline design processes
  • Ensure designs meet functional, process, and maintenance accessibility requirements.
  • Participate in technical reviews and discussions, presenting AutoCAD/Solidworks designs and incorporating feedback for continuous improvement
  • Periodic reports and information management 
  • Compile and store design data / information library with secure information management filing 
  • Assist in standardizing documentation practices to improve consistency and reduce errors across design and engineering files
  • Strictly manage distribution of design information, ensuring no release without proper written authorization in line with IP policies
  • Responsible to plan, supervise, and track engineering and project tasks to ensure timely delivery and quality execution
  • Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Generate accurate project reports and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including operations manuals and troubleshooting guides
  • Fabrication audits and ITC follow up with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices to continuously improve engineering processes
  • Any other jobs as assigned by superior
  • Working with international, regional, home base and external stakeholders 
  • Working as project team leader / member on assign projects 
  • Cross cultural, cross functional and willing to travel for overseas assignment

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machine design, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, heavy industrial or oil & gas environment
  • Knowledgeable in isometric view / Solidworks 3D modelling and the ability to perform flow, weight, stress, and moment load analysis for mechanical designs
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and Solidworks is a must. 
  • Willing to travel for overseas assignment
