Job description:

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily logistics activities, including managing export and import documentation and obtaining necessary permits from authorities.
  • Plan and arrange transportation to meet delivery deadlines and monitor shipping arrangements for both import and export shipments.
  • Monitor logistics expenditures to ensure cost efficiency across all aspects.
  • Oversee customer and affiliate orders and shipment schedules provided by Customer Care, preparing and arranging shipment bookings.
  • Compile and plan all logistics requirements, coordinating with the Warehouse team for handling both Dangerous Goods (DG) and non-Dangerous Goods (non-DG) shipments.
  • Ensure all logistics arrangements comply with regulatory requirements and work procedures, especially regarding shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate with cargo forwarders for road transport, air freight bookings, and sea freight vessel bookings.
  • Verify and inform the Operations team about delivery orders from cargo forwarders, and manage the return of non-acceptable goods rejected by the Quality team.
  • Handle cargo damage claims with insurance parties, transporters, or forwarders.
  • Assist in providing shipping documents and dispatch samples to customers for the Sampling team.
  • Address customer complaints related to shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and delivery issues.
  • Coordinate with Material Planning to manage incoming shipment planning based on demand information.
  • Update and maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments for monitoring purposes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 or more years of experience within a similar role in logistics or shipment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a relevant field.
  • Industry background within manufacturing related companies.
  • Familiarity in handling international shipment (import, export) is ideal.
  • Basic knowledge of Inventory Management and shipping terminology.
  • A go-getter attitude with a strong eagerness to learn and adapt.
  • An open-minded and proactive approach, unafraid to ask questions.
  • Proven success in Customer Relationship Management, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Additional experience in warehousing is advantageous, although not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, besides SAP or alternative Order Entry Systems.
  • Fluency in reading and writing Mandarin is ideal for communicating with China stakeholders.
  • Able to work in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
