Job Description: - Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and laws by preparing and reviewing tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant filings.
- Assisting in developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing benefits for the organization or clients. This includes researching tax laws and regulations to identify opportunities for tax savings (Includes WHT & GST)
- Interfacing with clients or internal stakeholders to provide tax advice, answer queries, and address concerns. This requires strong communication skills to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Analyzing financial data to identify tax implications and opportunities. This may involve reviewing financial statements, transaction records, and other relevant documentation.
- Assisting with tax audits or reviews by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and ensuring compliance with audit procedures.
- Conducting research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to stay updated on changes that may affect the organization or clients. Interpreting complex tax laws and providing guidance accordingly.
- Leveraging tax software and technology tools to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency in tax-related tasks.
- Keeping abreast of developments in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends through participation in professional development activities, seminars, and training sessions.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to tax matters. Generating reports for management or clients as needed.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, with relevant accreditation(s).
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, ideally with a combination of Big 4 and commercial tax experience.
- Strong foundation of tax technical knowledge (direct and indirect taxes and transfer pricing regulations) across the multiple jurisdictions that the Group is operating in, and with a proven track record of applying the knowledge to business operations.
- Experience with international transfer pricing dealings, handling complex and cross functional projects.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with keen attention to details and the bigger picture.
- Self-starter team player who can thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Able to work independently and a responsible team player.
