Job purpose

Acting partly as section leader and partly individual contributor on assigned works. Depending on the candidate, the job can be tailored to provide variety to a wide range of exposures for the ambitious individual. Ensures broader team deliverables meets assigned local statutory requirements and internal management and group/regional requirements. Provide actuarial technical support and analysis to help the company achieve the business objectives.

               
 


 

Key Accountabilities
 

  • Monthly preparations, analysis, clearance meetings with Senior Manager and exposures to the Appointed Actuary on:
    • RBC Reserves
    • Analysis of Surplus.
    • Analysis of Profit
    • Capital Adequacy Ratio
  • Assist Senior Manager to provide actuarial support to Appointed Actuary (AA) for the following works: Quarterly and FYE AA Valuation Reports and RBC Forms, annual Financial Condition Reporting, Multi-period Stress Testing, ICAAP, annual bonus supportability works, policyholder dividend recommendations, and other BAU and ad hoc regulatory related jobs.
  • Assist Local Senior Manager, Regional Senior Manager and AA as appropriate to provide broader actuarial, finance, risk and investment support functions such as Management and Local Investment Committee decks and board reports, solvency monitoring, capital adequacy, capital management decks (Exco and Board), Risk Appetite dashboards, capital projections in annual Strategic Plan works, etc.
  • Assist to review Monthly valuation data preparation and checking, policy movements, claim statistics, L-forms reporting, LIAM statistics reporting, Terminal Dividend calculations.
  • Lead a part and participate in a wide range of policy experience studies and assumptions review processes, from data and control checks, calculation processes, to impact analysis to reserves/earnings, value of new business, solvency/capital.
  • User Acceptance Tests on Prophet/actuarial and related systems
  • Provide actuarial technical support on ad hoc projects when appropriate.


 

Person specifications
 

  • Ideally, at least 4 to 6 years experience in Malaysia RBC / life insurance actuarial valuation experience.
  • Ambitious - keen to learn over the next 2-3 years. Candidates are encouraged to apply, even if they only have half the above experience.
