Job description:
Position Summary: You are responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level.
Job Responsibilities: - Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
- Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate and provide resolution of incidents escalated.
- Manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
- Monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively.
- Perform regular security patching.
- Handle service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
- Monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the databases; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
- Ensure service level meet requirement. Propose and implement action plan when required.
- Perform performance tuning and resource optimization as required.
- Maintaining a knowledge base to ensure database intellectual property is retained.
- Support other ad-hoc duties been assigned.
Job Requirements: - Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Professional Certification in Oracle, MS SQL and EDB.
- Minimum 3 year of experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL and MS SQL.
- Experience in performing database Patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skill is a must.
- Experience in implement database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
- Experience in EDB Cluster management using EFM.
- Good skillset in Impact Analysis of DB Change.
- Able to provide prompt 24x7 support.
