Cloud Infrastructure (Storage & Backup) Engineer

Position Title                       : Senior Engineers – Cloud Infrastructure (Storage & Backup)

Working location               : Kuala Lumpur

Position Summary: 

You are responsible for the Operations of Storage and Backup in our virtualized environment in the on premises Private Cloud. The candidates will help to provide L1 and L2 support to applications for Storage and Backup related issues and Service Requests. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Maintenance of Storage and Backup infrastructure in premises Data Center, including all proxies and gateways related to backup. 
• Support Virtualization and storage related service requests and changes requested by application or infrastructure teams.
• Work with Change Management to propose and implement changes especially for Data Center migration patching for ongoing quality, efficiency and resiliency requirements.
• Ensure that operational SLA’s are met, and crafting meaningful reports and metrics to track progress of current infrastructure, including capacity planning and operational improvements.
• Ensure solution compliance and integration with enterprise architecture and Infosec policy for Infrastructure and Security systems by reviewing and advising on new and existing Information Technology projects.
• Providing advice and guidance to all areas of IT and Business Management, analysts, planners, designers and developers on all aspects of compute infrastructure.
• Create and document the solution using the existing Infrastructure Standard Platforms and Design Patterns
• Act as a subject matter expert in matters pertaining to one of either the Compute or Storage towers in the organization. 

Key Requirements:

• Graduate in Bachelor Degree of Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in corporate infra operations.
• Experience in Enterprise Storage (Dell EMC, Huawei, Hitachi) design, deployment and operations in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience in bash, Powershell and other scripting for operational efficiency.
• Experience in performing VM migration on databases like Oracle, MySQL, and MSSQL would be advantageous.
• Ability to direct project design and planning activities associated with complex or large sized network infrastructure development projects.
• Experience in dealing with vendors on technology and services
