Job description:
The Cloud Administrator ensures proper management, operation, maintenance, and administration of enterprise-level networks and systems to ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of Information Management and Technology (IMT services.
General Duties and Responsibilities: - Support and maintain infrastructure and systems on Cloud platforms provisioned as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, etc.
Manage and administer the Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security. - Assist in the support and maintenance of systems, database or web applications hosted on prem (including Linux systems) ensuring efficient deployment and utilization of servers.
- Assess system configurations, logs, and error messages; discern problems; and initiate preventative and corrective actions.
- Monitor IMT services and take detective, preventative or corrective actions to ensure system availability, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Resolve end user and technical issues ensuring proper operation, maintenance, and administration of IMT systems, active directory, messaging and collaboration systems, network services, file and print services, server provisioning, storage, backup, and recovery.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and other relevant documentation of operational systems and services, including a consolidated inventory of data centre assets.
- Liaise with Premises Management services and external providers for management of Data Centre and related facilities.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
Functional Knowledge & Skills: - Thorough and in-depth knowledge of Cloud platforms, Windows server operating system and Windows-based network services, e.g., AD, file, print, DFS, DNS.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure technologies and services.
- Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP internetworking and related services, e.g., DNS, WINS, DHCP.
- Strong working knowledge of systems management, performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Thorough knowledge of x86 based server installation, maintenance and troubleshooting; virtualization; networked storage systems; and backup and recovery systems with disaster recovery expertise.
- Able to effectively support many systems and users. Adaptability and flexibility for working in complex and changing environments and under pressure.
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Creativity in approach to new challenges, both technological and organizational.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications: - University Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Management, or related discipline.
- Relevant professional training and/or certification related to Microsoft server systems, Cloud platforms, virtualization, networked storage and backup would be an advantage.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in the information and communications field, preferably in a large international company or organization supporting a large-scale Windows environment and network services, network storage systems, and backup and recovery mechanisms.
- Some experience also required in the following areas: Cloud platforms administration, ICT Platform and Systems Engineering, Systems Administration and Operations, Network and Telecommunication Systems, ICT Security Management, Technical Documentation and Operation
