Job description:

Responsibilities:

1) Responsible for the full spectrum of HR operations

2) To coordinate hiring processes and employee transitions for all staff in Papua New Guinea

-Coordinate all aspects of the recruiting process

-Help to ensure employee transitions are handled professionally, sensitively and in compliance with labor laws and properly documented

-Create and maintain HR tools such as guideline, checklists, policy & procedure templates to streamline HR processes

3) Maintain organized, up-to-date and complete personnel files. Assist with preparation of payroll information and administration of employee benefit programs

4) Assist with logistics and onboarding for new hires

5) Employee relations

-Develop a trustful relationship with employees and offer support in difficult situations

-Handle mediations when conflicts arise

-Maintain confidentiality in all personal issues

-Encourage a healthy and work-life balanced environment

6) Performance Management

-Train staff on the use of the performance management system

-To improve the effectiveness of the performance management system content

-Help to coordinate the performance management process

7) Compensation & Local Labor Regulations

-Handle on local sources for biannual compensation survey data to ensure Root Capital’s compensation structure is competitive and equitable with local market and industry.

8) Policies and Procedures

To compile and maintain field office employee handbooks

9) Organize and facilitate monthly staff meetings  

10) Office Administration

-Assure a productive, safe and healthy environment for all employees working in the office including coordination of maintenance and esthetics

-Support administration of office insurance

-Support staff with operational tasks

-Proactively look for operational efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities

11) Commitment to address, participate and facilitate any HR & Administrative issues on an ad hoc basis, under the Management’s directive  

12) To oversee overall office related expenses to ensure it is controlled within budget

Requirements:

1) Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Professional Certificate / Bachelor’s Degree / Professional Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.

2) High proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

3) At least 5 years of working experience in HR and Administration

4) Computer literate and having strong skills in Microsoft Office and payroll software

5) Positive attitude, self-motivated and responsible

6) Meticulous, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks in systematic manner

7) Well versed in PNG Employment Act and Industrial Act

8) Able to work independently
