About the Role

An established financial institution is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Firewall Network Engineer to join its Group Technology division. This position plays a vital role in ensuring network security, performance, and operational excellence across a large-scale enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network security solutions, with deep hands-on experience in Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Bluecoat technologies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a high-security, enterprise-grade infrastructure while contributing to strategic network and cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  Design, configure, and implement robust firewall solutions (physical and virtual environments, including VMware NSX).

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Administer and monitor network performance, health, and security integrity as part of BAU operations.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Troubleshoot and resolve network and security incidents within defined SLAs.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Develop and enhance automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical and troubleshooting matters.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Establish, review, and test security controls, including access authentication and disaster recovery plans.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Maintain detailed technical documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Continuously assess and improve firewall performance, scalability, and capacity.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and provide support for critical incidents.

  \n\t
\n

Requirements

Mandatory:

\n\t
• \n\t

  Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Network or Firewall Engineer, specializing in Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Internet Proxy Servers.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Strong technical understanding of TCPDUMP/Wireshark, with the ability to analyze packet captures at a deep level.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Experience working with or within principal vendors or system integrator (SI) environments.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Possession of a Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE) or higher certification.

  \n\t
\n

Preferred:

\n\t
• \n\t

  Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network operations.

  \n\t
\n\t
• \n\t

  Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in deployment and incident resolution projects.
