Job Purpose
Support the Finance Shared Services (FSS) General Ledger (GL) operations, including period-end closing, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and statutory audit support. Candidates must have hands-on audit experience or a strong audit background.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support day-to-day GL accounting operations and period-end (monthly, quarterly, yearly) closing.
- Prepare financial reports, analysis, and full set of accounts for management and statutory purposes.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, resolve variances, and clear long-outstanding items.
- Support statutory audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and ensuring timely audit closure.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned entities and accounting standards (IFRS/MFRS).
- Guide and coach junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Drive issue resolution, compliance, and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, CPA, ICAEW preferred).
- Minimum 4–6 years of GL accounting experience with compulsory audit background (external or internal audit).
- Hands-on experience in full set of accounts, financial statements, and audit engagements.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/MFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in Finance Shared Services and ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) is an advantage.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Candidates must have hands-on audit experience or a strong audit background.
