Position Title: Material Planner
Location: Chendering Industrial Zone, 21080 Chendering, Terengganu Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Work Arrangement: On-site Salary: Basic up to RM5,000
Position Overview
A well-established international technology manufacturer supplying to major automotive OEMs is seeking a qualified and experienced Material Planner. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely material availability to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations, while optimizing inventory levels and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, manage, and coordinate material flow to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Warehouse and Production Planning departments to track material usage and ensure consumption accuracy.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels in line with company targets, including the management of obsolete stock.
• Establish and update safety stock levels based on forecasts and production plans.
• Oversee inbound logistics and actively work to reduce premium freight costs.
• Execute tasks in accordance with directions from the immediate superior.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in material planning or supply chain management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (preferably SAP – Materials Management module).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
