Chief Operation Officer

Company Background:

Our client is a Malaysian listed manufacturing company located in Melaka, supplying to various industries in the Asia Pacific region. Currently, they are looking for a Chief Operation Officer to be based in Melaka plant.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all manufacturing operations, ensuring the company achieves its production, quality, and profitability objectives
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all operational departments, fostering a culture of efficiency, lean manufacturing principles, and cost optimization
• Lead the procurement and sourcing team to secure high-quality raw materials and components at competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules
• Cultivate a customer-centric environment, driving excellence in customer service and ensuring responsiveness to customer needs
• Oversee the implementation of best practices for warehouse and logistics management, optimizing inventory levels to minimize carrying costs and meet production demands
• Spearhead the implementation of robust quality assurance programs, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to industry standards
• Lead the process engineering team in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and minimize waste
• Collaborate with product development to introduce innovative new cable products and oversee the maintenance of existing product lines, ensuring competitiveness and market relevance
• Monitor production costs, develop and manage operational budgets, and provide accurate production forecasts to support overall company financial planning
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential operational risks that could disrupt production or impact product quality
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational departments. Provide regular reports to the CEO on operational performance, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of working experience as a senior management in manufacturing environment
• Posses extensive industry experience and business knowledge
• Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate the teams and talent grooming for succession planning
• Good in conveying the company's vision, strategies, and goals clearly to diverse teams and stakeholders
• Effective communication skills in English, Bahasa and Chinese languages
• Willing to be based in Melaka
