Java Engineer

Job Title: Java Engineer (Mandarin Speaker)
Location: Near MRT Bukit Bintang
Employment Type: Full-Time (5-Day Work Week, with remote work pattern/ WFA)

About the Role:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Java Engineer proficient in Mandarin to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Java applications. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to every phase of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams to gather and interpret requirements, delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our projects.
• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices; perform regular code reviews and offer constructive feedback to team members.
• User Interface & Database Design: Develop intuitive user interfaces and design effective database architectures.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Lifecycle Participation: Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and post-launch support.
• Security & Functionality Validation: Ensure that applications are secure and functioning as intended, validating against requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, code changes, and technical specifications for reference and continuity.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Be adaptable and prepared to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support project goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in web programming design, specifically with Java | Previous roles as a Java Software Engineer, Java Developer, or similar position.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java programming and familiarity with common design patterns | Strong background in JSP or Servlet (Java J2EE) application development | Experience with AP Server applications, particularly using Tomcat | Proficiency in database application development | Advantageous if experienced with Vue and Redis.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail | Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment | Proficient in Mandarin to engage with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and clients.
• Other Requirements: Must be willing to be on-call when project demands arise.
